Jack Straw visits Norwich pub

Jack Straw joins Chris on visit to crime-tackling Norwich pub
Labour’s candidate in the Norwich North by election, Chris Ostrowski, was today joined by Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor, Jack Straw MP in a visit to a local pub that is helping to defeat anti-social behaviour.
The Brickmakers pub on Sprowston Road is owned and run by three local women- Pam, Charley and Emma. They have banned drug-pushers and other who misbehave and have now turned the pub into a live music venue that gives local youngsters a chance to play in front of a crowd.
The Brickmakers even has its own ID scheme, so that under-18s can watch the live music, but not drink alcohol. Making sure that kids have something to do has helped to cut down on the number of youngsters hanging around on the streets, where the chances of getting involved in anti-social behaviour are higher.
Labour’s Chris Ostrowski said:
"The Brickmakers is a brilliant example of how a pub can be the hub of a community if it changes with the times.
“The fact that it is a pub that is leading the way in fighting anti-social behaviour is an excellent example to everyone.
"Pam, Charley and Emma are so full of enthusiasm and energy that I am sure they will continue to make a real success out of The Brickmakers.
